Quick answer
Choose an image (or type its pixel size) and enter the size you want to print it at. The checker shows the effective PPI on width and height and which one limits you. 300 PPI is a practical target for small prints viewed up close. Your file is read on your device and is never uploaded.
Choose an image, or type its width and height in pixels, then the size you want it printed.
How it works
- 1Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image, or tick the box to type the pixel size yourself.
- 2Enter the print size in inches, centimetres or millimetres.
- 3Read the PPI on each axis. The lower number is what matters. The tool also shows the pixels you need for 300 PPI and the largest size your file reaches at 300 PPI.
What to keep in mind
- Enlarging a small image adds pixels but not detail, so resizing a low-resolution picture up does not fix it.
- 300 PPI is a practical guide, not a guarantee: large prints viewed from a distance can look fine with less.
- Only raster images (JPG, PNG, WebP) are measured. Vector files (SVG, PDF, AI, EPS) scale without losing sharpness, but this tool cannot check their fonts, colour profiles, cut lines or whether they are print-ready. Send those for a free file check.
